Pavement Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities

• Conduct applied engineering research on pavements and aggregates, including destructive and non-destructive methods to develop flexible pavement designs using industry instruments such as Falling Weight Deflectometer
• Conduct applied research on long term pavement performance, including quality assurance of laboratory testing data; rehabilitation, distress, profile and deflection data, traffic data, and pavement performance data 
• Provide sampling of materials, testing methods, and data analysis
• Prepare studies on materials development, evaluation, characterization, pavement performance modeling for management systems, cost allocation, and pavement rehabilitation and maintenance using industry-accepted software
• Perform pavement evaluation and pavement design

Requirements

• B.S/B.A required.  Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
• Major Field of Study: Pavement Engineering
• Any experience in related occupation a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid drivers license with acceptable motor vehicle record
• Applicants must complete a pre-employment drug test
