Lake Tawakoni Pipeline Repair
Hunt & Kaufman Counties, Texas

Fugro provided construction materials engineering and testing services for repairs to one of the main water supply sources for the City of Dallas. The 84” raw water transmission line ruptured on December 31, 2003 and over 30 sections of the 16-mile pipeline had to be replaced. Emergency repairs were completed on May 28, 2004 and the city began filling the pipeline with water on June 1, 2004. Lake Tawakoni supplies a third of the city’s water during the summer months and can provide up to 250 million gallons a day.
